OVERVIEW
Chesa Diana provides the reconstruction of the homonymous home, considering the relationship with the environment and the surrounding landscape.
The new house in stone and wood interacts with the lake and the bernina mountain opening toward the landscape through the fully glazed front, marked by pitched roof and balconies of solid wood and glass railings to provide an open view into the surrounding landscape.

THE VISION
St. Moritz is one of the most popular tourist locations in the world, not only for its beautiful mountains and numerous ski resorts, but also for the charming lake landscape that surrounds it. The location offers a great combination of the Corvatsch area beauty and the stunning lake.
The project goal is to offer a warm and comfortable house environment in a contemporary architecture that stands out in the landscape but at the same time communicate with it.

“The entire Chesa Diana project is a great example of a contemporary reinterpretation of the typical mountain cabin”
The Plan Magazine, October 2013

THE PROJECT
Chesa Diana is surrounded by Nature: the main driver of all the architectural choices. The house, built with natural materials as wood and stone, interacts with both the lake, opening towards the landscape through the large glass windows that characterise it, and the surrounding grove, thanks to some quiet corners where visitors can enjoy the mountain climate.
Even inside the house you can appreciate this constant juxtaposition of tradition and modernity; from the floor boards of larch to the kitchen with stainless steel elements, the materiality of the stone with the elegance of windows, the warmth of the fireplace essentiality of furniture designed to ensure the smallest spaces in a mountain home with all the comforts days.

Leitmotif of our choices was the desire to offer a warm and comfortable environments in a contemporary architecture that wants to stand out in the landscape but at the same time communicate with it.
